Alarm Services
In accordance with BS 5839-1 and BS 5839-6, relating to commercial fire alarm systems and smoke detectors, it is a legal requirement to have them regularly maintained and then certified. We inspect and maintain fire alarm systems to meet the recommendations of BS5839 and also provide free quotations for new installations.
All of our fire alarm products are of the highest quality and are manufactured in accordance with current British Standards, meeting and exceeding the minimum fire safety requirements.
We also provide servicing schedules one to three times per year depending upon your business requirements.
Each of our servicing engineers is F.I.A. qualified to BS 5839 part 1 (2002) standard, and they carry out all maintenance works in line with all current legislation and BS/EN fire safety equipment standards.

Signage
All premises and buildings in the UK are subject to strict fire safety regulations.
Signage must be used, where necessary, to help people identify escape routes, find fire fighting equipment and other emergency provisions such as telephones, fire refuges and evacuation aids. Phoenix Fire & Safety can assist you in ensuring that you provide adequate signage within your premises.
Remember that your fire evacuation notices/instruction must reflect your evacuation procedure, be displayed in relevant positions, be up to date and provide relevant information to those attending your premises on what to do in the event of an emergency.
We will carry out an audit for you, to ensure that you have suitable signage as required under Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 and British Standard BS5499 – Safety signs, including fire safety signs.
This will account for the size, type (use of arrows, text and pictograms), mounting heights, location, viewing distances and meaning of signs.
The completion of the audit will help identify areas which need signage to assist those using the premises to orientate themselves with their closest emergency route or emergency equipment.
It will also help to identify if there are other signs present which may affect people’s ability to see and understand escape signs.
This process will also contribute to the suitability of the fire risk assessment as this will demonstrate that you have a suitable provision of emergency signage on your premises.
